Horse & Trap

Horses, and particularly horse portraits, were a very common theme for ties in the 30s-50s. This one was made by Smoothie and features a central portrait flanked by a couple of drawings of a horse drawing a trap. The horse has a knowing glint in his eye. Very bold! This one was a bit of a wreck when I bought it, but I’ve fixed it up to a nice wearable state.

  1. Oh I love this one! I’m thoroughly enjoying looking through your ties as I date several of my own.
