Mid 40s Fossils

Hmmm. One of those weird, weird, inexplicable patterns so often seen on ties from the era. Very often it’s impossible to decide exactly what these motifs represent. This one looks most to me like a fossilized fern leaves. The brand is Pilgrim, which was a Sear’s brand. Again, the base fabric is jacquard woven, rayon this time, very common in the middle-late 40s. The maroons and greys work well with many different colourways. All around a great tie.
