Bold

A rather bold tie. Probably dating from the middle 1940s it was made by Resilio, and sold from Schuster’s Mens Shop in Milwaukee, WI. Quite rare to find an orange tie from this era, which is strange as they combine wonderfully with brown jackets, which were rather popular. The basic fabric is Jacquard-woven, where each warp thread can be raised independently of the others. You can see the effect in the large orange splodges of the print where you can see patterns formed by this manipulation of the warp threads. This weaving method was very popular immediately post-WWII and into the 1950s. The fabric feels like a rayon/acetate blend
